Meet the Crew
Eric Berzins founded Fort Hill in Easthampton partly for the city's delicious, environmentally protected water, but largely because he was enamored with the community's friendliness and sense of welfare that everyone under Mt. Tom shows.
Eric enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and yoga.
Tim Juul is our Assistant Brewer extraordinaire, a job he describes as “hooking up hoses.” He hails from Western NY, but now resides in Amherst. An avid homebrewer and craft enthusiast, he was hard-pressed to limit his favorite beers to the following list: Bourbon County Stout, Easy Jack, Hera Pils, Rauchbier, Ithaca Flower Power, Brew Free or Die IPA, and Southern Tier Pumking. A former motocross racer, he also makes his own biodiesel.
Jed Duffin is the brewery's resident delivery expert. He hails from both north and south, growing up in Massachusetts, and spending a number of years in Louisiana, where he cultivated his love of New Orleans cuisine. (He also likes pancakes.) His favorite beers are Chimay ales. Jed loves Pearl Jam and The Big Lebowski, and says he used to be semi-cool in the 90s.
Aaron Sparko has been a Production Assistant at the brewery since 2015. Aaron was born and raised in Easthampton, and still lives in the city today with his family. He loves spending time with his kids and hiking. His favorite Fort Hill brew is the Hera Pils.
Simon Burhoe started as a Production Assistant at Fort Hill in March 2017. Simon is a craft beer fanatic, and his favorite beers include: Heady Topper, Taras Boulba, Hanssens Oude Gueze and Oude Kriek, Jolly Pumpkin Bam Biere, Bourbon County Stout, Pirate BOMB!, and any beer from Suarez Family Brewery.
Odel is the resident brewery pup. She enjoys bones, playing fetch, and running around outside the brewery. Be sure to say hi if you see her!
